Dr. Young’s “Overcoming the Impostor Syndrome” presentation was our most well attended Webinar of the last two years. Over 600 people registered for the Webinar and based on the evaluations completed by attendees ranks as one of our most highly rated presentations.

Valerie Young was invited to do a webcast for The Conference Board in March of 2012 on the topic of her new book: The Secret Thoughts of Successful Women: Why Capable People Suffer from the Impostor Syndrome and How to Thrive in Spite of It. We were extremely pleased with the large number – 375 – of registrants this webcast attracted! Occasionally a topic is so timely and has such universal appeal that both our members and non-members want to take advantage of the opportunity to learn more about a topic – and this topic is so relevant! I’m sure we will invite Dr. Young to do more on this topic.
Dr. Irene B Carew, Conference Program Director, The Conference Board
Five women across the hall with Higher Education Resource Services participated in the webinar this week and each one of them has made a point of telling me how impressed they were, what a good job we did, and how much they enjoyed the webinar. They mentioned how well the slides and Valerie’s presentation fit together, how seamless the webinar was, and how well we worked together.
I wanted you to know that you a STAR!

Society of Women Engineers webinar attendees:
- This seminar was excellent and very useful. I think that many women face this type of problem at some point, and it is wonderful to have a professional knowing this issue very well that tells others it is common, and how to overcome it. Thanks so much for organizing this seminar!
- Excellent seminar! Great professional development for anyone including professionals, executives and students
- Thank you so much for offering this webinar! This is definitely something that I suffer from, and I look forward to applying some of the practices to my career. Great topic and I’m glad to be introduced to Dr. Young and her book.
- I was sitting here with my PhD student who is doing their qualifying exam in two days. The insights provided were most helpful.
- The speaker was really good. She spoke with lots of confidence. I can tell she knows a lot and has given this talk before.
